Discussion vs. Non-Discussion

I’m becoming very disillusioned with mainly a left on not discussing bad press
Last week I was called a troll for simply suggesting we listen to people arguments (in this case against Corby) and provide well researched counter argument.
Today’s war, over sharing clearly biased articles pass off as news. I fully understand the
“don’t want to give them money”
argument, however if you never challenge the fear and mis-information it will grow.
I spent three years reading and forming arguments against working stupid assertion I was unfit for my job. If I had not then what ?
