Hoist - Safeguarding concern over nrs and the complete lack of accountability

Background

The theory behind this complaint was the lack of service and maintenance contract on my sara plus ( https://www.mage-net.net/view/hoist ) not the lack of accountability over the NRS fascio.

At no point did anyone from Haringey Council Feedback & Resolutions Team or Haringey Council Adult Social Care (ASC) contact me to understand the Complaint or the reason behind it.
Technically the accountability aspect is a reference to the fact that NRS went bankrupt in August 2025 and to date Haringey have not told Service Users

The accountability aspect has been explored in Complaint COM/4771

Complaint Response

In true Haringey Council fashion the response was a lesson in evasion.
It offers their understanding or the situation, acknowledges the worry at the lack of maintenance or servicing contract
Your complaint has been carefully considered and discussed with relevant professionals in line with safeguarding guidance.
But NEVER asked me? So the discussion wasn’t based on the actual circumstances.
Given I’m the one using the equipment, who has 15 years of use and has the risk should it fail. I’m best placed to understand it.
the equipment has not been reported as unsafe, and appropriate professional routes remain available to address your concerns.
But it’s got no maintenance or servicing contract ( you stated this, in 2nd paragraph of this response ) so who could I report it to?
Provide Community Equipment (the new NRS) see the Sara Plus as a special and refer me back to Haringey Council.
The response refers to the Sara Plus as Sara Stedy Plus hoist Sara Stedy is an entirely different bit of equipment. It’s mostly used in physiotherapy Back in 2013 Sara Stedy
The Sara Stedy probably would not be appropriate for my transfers. As the video above shows it’s use (my use or it) is actually quite challenging
The coup de grâce….
At this time, it has been concluded that the situation does not meet safeguarding criteria, as there is no evidence of abuse or neglect
The lack of maintenance or servicing contract is by definition necklace as Haringey Council have neglected to ensure its provision.

Ombudsman

I approched the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman on I was given the Refrance number.
The complaint is currently at the LGO Assessment Stage. The LGO will spend Weeks (or MONTHS ) Trying to decide if the complaint is something they can investigate. This is despite Haringey Council having signposted me to them and there being no other organisations to deal with the complaint. If the complaint is accepted it will be MONTHS before the investigation
